Advisor Forms

  • Request for Full Time Status: GI Bill® recipients who are student teaching, completing an internship or enrolled in another program which limits their credit hours may request full time status based on their clock hours. Complete this form and bring it to the Office of Veterans Affairs for processing.
  • Parent Institution Form (PIF): GI Bill® recipients who wish to pursue a degree at Texas State University and take courses at another school must complete this form. This ensures your courses will transfer to your degree plan.
  • Dual Objective Approval Form: Complete this form if you are a GI Bill® recipient working toward two degrees here at Texas State University.

  • 22-5495 Change of Program or Place of Training Survivors’ and Dependents’ Education Assistance (Chapters 35 and 33, Fry Scholarship).

University Resources

  • Academic Coaching: Empower students to take an active and productive approach to learning.
  • Attorney for Students: Whether it is landlord/tenant Law, criminal law, family law, contract law, employment law, consumer protection law or notary services registered students are entitled to attorney services at no charge.
  • Career Services: Resume assistance, career exploration, job searching, on-campus student employment resources and career preparation. 
  • Counseling Center: Self-help resources, individual counseling, group counseling and workshops.
  • Disability Services: Provides specialized services based on individual disability-based needs.
  • Ombuds Services: This service personally assists students in achieving resolutions to university related challenges (i.e. university instructor/professor, employer challenges...etc.) in accordance with appropriate University Policies and Procedures Statements (UPPS).
  • Peer Mentoring: Upperclassman provide support both in and out of the classroom to help students academically and socially integrate to Texas State University. The diverse peer mentors demonstrate academic integrity, responsible decision-making, and help students get connected to co-curricular activities.
  • University Catalogs: Undergraduate and graduate programs here at Texas State University.
  • Veteran Academic Success Center (VASC): The Veteran Academic Success Center is a collaborative effort between the University and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to offer military-connected students resources and a peer support program (Guides & Tutors) that provide transitional assistance, information about VA education benefits, social support, and academic services to support academic success.
  • Veterans Alliance of Texas State (VATS): A chartered organization whose mission is to provide a connection between student veterans, the university, and the community.
